Tailoring your form to your applicant is a great way to engage their interest and make it a more personal process. Submit.com forms have the ability to automatically pull in your applicants’ details from their registration (first, last, full name and email address) as well as answers given throughout the form to further personalise your form.
For example: you can ask an applicant what college they attended and use that answer to ask them more about that particular college.
How to set up question personalisation
Creating personalised questions throughout your application form is quick and simple. While adding your questions to the form, you will see a magic wand icon next to the Save button.
You can also find this by editing a question that has already been created.
To begin personalising, simply click on the magic wand:
This will then open up a text box where you can select how you want to personalise the question. There are a number of options you can chose from:
-
User Properties - These are the details that the applicant provides when registering on the platform.
-
Application Properties - these are details auto created by the system (Application Id) and/or created by the a system user (Custom Ref, Comments, scores and Grant amount awarded)
-
Application Questions - Utilising this function is possible to pull answers that the applicant has previously provided into future questions on the form.
- Office-Use Questions - Any answers provided in the office use only can be entered into questions in future phases.
When you choose the variable you want, our system will provide you with a unique code (Q:ID)that you can place into your question as seen in the image below.
Simply save your question with the new input for it to appear on your form.
Utilising the Smart Builder Across Phases
Using the smart builder in future phases of your form, you can utilise this tool to port in answers previously provided by your applicants.
A prime example of this would be their name, their organisation, their email, or any other details that are previously provided in a past phase of the application.
For example, if you have a second phase called contracting and you can pull in previously provided information utilising the Smart Builder from the application phase. This can be accessed from the Choose Phase dropdown within the Smart Builder
