When upgrading from the old version of submit to the new latest version of the platform, you may notice that on your forms, the emails may be obscured by x'ing them out. This is done for privacy reasons and is also related to permissions. As after an upgrade, team leaders are required to enable permissions at a more granular level than that was previously available on the old platform, they too will need to make a decision on whether or not they need emails to be visible to the team users on the system as the emails are obscured by default during an upgrade.
How to re-enable the email visibility
To make these emails visible again, all you need to do is go to the form, then click the edit button.
Once you're in the edit form section, go to settings and then general. From there you just need to scroll down until you see the display email on application option and toggle that from off to on. Once enabled, you will now be able to see your applicant emails again.
Note, if your Team Leader has required emails to be obscured or x’ed out, this does not bar you from messaging any applicants as this function only obscures at the form level and does not inhibit any messaging with the applicants on your form.
